Overview

Let It Shine is a dramatic and enthralling tale of bad choices, family ties and second choices by Josephine Cox, one of the nation's best-loved storytellers. As her past catches up with her, can she ever hope to restore happiness? Ada Williams once believed money and power would bring her happiness. But now she is all alone except for her greedy son Peter, who waits only for the day he will inherit her fortune. Ada, however, has a different plan altogether. She enters the lives of the Bolton family, living just a few miles away in Blackburn. The Boltons may be poor - but the love they share means they can overcome almost any adversity. But no one could have foreseen the shocking events of Christmas night, 1932, which split the family asunder, leaving Larry crippled and the twins, Ellie and Betsy, in a foster home. Events that Ada Williams, even after all these years, will never forget . . .

Author Information

Josephine Cox was born in a cotton-mill house in Blackburn, one of ten children. At the age of sixteen, Josephine met and married her husband Ken, and had two sons. When the boys started school, she decided to go to college and eventually gained a place at Cambridge University. She was unable to take this up as it would have meant living away from home, but she went into teaching - and started to write her first full-length novel. Her strong, gritty stories are taken from the tapestry of life.
