Iako zenama nije mesto na brodu, Rebeccu, jedinu kcer ozloglasenog gusarskog kapetana Barbarosse, nista ne moze od toga odvratiti. Barabrossa nece za to ni da čuje pa kuje planove kako da od nje napravi pokornu zenu. Kako bi izbegla ugovoreni brak, Rebecca se krisom kao slepi putnik ukrcava na njegov brod. Ali od istog trenutka počinje nocna mora kakvu nije mogla ni zamisliti. Gotovo da nema dana kada im nije glava u torbi, kako od morskih nemani i oluja tako i od kraljevske potere koja je raspisala poternicu na Barbarossinu glavu. Da bi sve jos bilo gore, čitava posada je protiv nje jer su svi do jednog uvereni da zene na brodu donose prokletstvo i nesrecu. Iako se nadala očevoj zastiti, nasred mora Becky ostaje prepustena samoj sebi a svaki novi dan je borba na zivot i smrt. Uprkos svemu, u njenim zilama teče krv njenog oca, tvrdoglavog irca pa je resena da izdrzi sve po svaku cenu i izbori se za svoje mesto na palubi. Kada na nju dodje red da upravlja kormilom, ona koristi priliku da zaplovi na ukleto ostrvo Skeleton, sablasno mesto koje izbegavaju i najtvrdokorniji moreplovci. Kroz nevidjene oluje, preko talasa velikih kao planine, Rebecca hrli ka mestu sa kojeg se jos niko nikada nije ziv vratio.
