What drives us? Who makes us run so fast? Who organizes overload for pupils and students? Even the composition of the sentences deliberately conveys breathlessness. This is part of the phenomenon, because everyone in our corporate world knows this feeling of constant full throttle from their own experience. To make it very clear: we are not looking for culprits for a sweeping accusation, it is clearly a societal problem that has international dimensions. Perhaps we don't really know how to deal with our creative freedom and, as an alternative, un-challengedly serve a sociological trend: the meritocracy that has long since delimited performance and still lacks the reference to when enough has been done. It has recognizes that the abolition of the ruling authority (of earlier centuries) does not lead to more freedom: it rather allows freedom and coercion to collapse - thus the achievement subject abandons himself to free coercion in order to maximize performance. The excess of work and achievement intensifies into self-exploitation. the mental illnesses of the meritocracy are precisely the pathological manifestations of this paradoxical freedom. From the aspect of leadership and self-leadership, we comment on this several times.
