Overview

Commander Lauren J Greer-Bouchet RN DSC is a highly decorated officer of the Royal Navy. She earned these decorations not at sea in conventional warfare but in the murky world of anti-terrorist undercover work. Lauren was a founder member of a top-secret covert unit called Detachment 16 formed in the turmoil that was Northern Ireland in the seventies and eighties. During these formative years, Lauren uncovered a conspiracy reaching into the very highest reaches of the British establishment. Those who were threatened by exposure tried repeatedly to silence her. She survived many attempts on her life and lost lovers and friends. Her enemies fatally underestimated her, for her beauty and athleticism blinded them to a fierce intellect and indomitable spirit that is pure amazonian warrior. Lauren is a woman of power and beauty who pays a heavy price for her unwillingness to conform to stereotypes and sexual roles. This is her path - her path to ultimate freedom.
