Author Information

Cathy Lawday taught English in Sweden and Malaysia. On returning to England she wrote English language teaching material for Mary Glasgow Publishers. After a spell as an editor at Macmillan she wrote course books for Oxford University Press and was the author of several very successful courses  for schools in Greece, Egypt, the Middle East, Spain, Poland and more. Specialising in courses for young learners her books are packed with games, songs, stories and rhymes - all designed to make learning fun. She co-wrote the video Wizadora, and has also written two books of family history, researching her ancestors in the Yorkshire Dales. She is married, has twin sons and a growing number of grandchildren. She lives in a small village near Oxford, regularly contributes poems to the village magazine and reads her work at local open mic events, where she entertains, amuses and occasionally shocks her audience.
