She has published extensively on Latin American and Jewish Literature, gender, cultural studies, and memory. Her most recent books include The Cambridge History of Latin American Women's Literature (with Ileana Rodríguez) and La vocación desmesurada: Una biografía de Alberto Gerchunoff. Debra A. Castillo is Emerson Hinchliff Professor of Hispanic Studies and Professor of Comparative Literature at Cornell University. She specializes in contemporary narrative and performance from the Spanish-speaking world (including the United States), gender studies, comparative border studies, and cultural theory.
