OverviewInternational bestselling author James Byron Huggins delivers Last Hunt, the third and final book in the Hunter Saga. Nathaniel Hunter has faced nightmares most men can't imagine. In Alaska's frozen wilderness he confronted a primordial killer. On England's haunted moors he fought a beast born of legend. Each time he walked away scarred but unbroken. Now the battle comes to his own doorstep. Scipio Dante, the brilliant, ruthless mind behind the experiments that created those monsters, has perfected a serum that transforms men into savage, unstoppable predators. Backed by limitless wealth and a private army, he will stop at nothing to rid the world of its greatest threat: the hunter who has foiled him twice before. From his remote mountain cabin, Hunter must prepare for the ultimate confrontation. The wilderness he calls home bristles with danger; the predators he respects may soon turn against him. To survive, he'll need every weapon at his disposal, every ally he can trust, and every ounce of his primal fury. The world's last true hunter is about to face his final, most terrifying prey. I have been up all night, and it is 0630 hrs in the morning. I just could not put this book down. I have read Hunter about 16 times in the past years, and would not have believed a part 2 would ever be written. I mean who would mess with perfection? I was blown away when I came across Hunters Moon and my heart nearly stopped. Let me just say I loved this book. Is it better than the first? I will say it is as different from the first that it could stand alone. Is that a bad thing? It is sooo not. The book was spectacular. The first couple of chapters I was like oh no this is going to be a clone of the first, but I was very very presently surprised. I cannot say enough about this book except READ IT. Now to the negatives....the only negatives I would put forth is I would like to have known about some characters from Hunter I, but that is not necessary for the plot of this book. It is just my thirst for knowledge of the world around Hunter the character. It does not take away from Hunter II at all. I would like to believe that the author likes this book to be a stand alone, and that's the way he wrote it. Just my opinion. Mr. Huggins if you happen to read this all I can say sir is you hit a 450 foot home run from Fenway park. Thank you."" - bigbob1202 Amazon reviewer An amazing surprise! ""I read the first book years ago and loved it! So well written and original in it's own way. For a while I kept an eye out for a sequel but after so long I figured it was a stand alone and was ok with that. But then I randomly came across this while browsing for something different from my usual werewolf addiction. Did. Not. Disappoint! The bear, the link to the original monster and science. I only put it down to sleep and it still took me a few days to finish it. It is a perfect flow of reading. To top it off Hunter's favorite rifle is also my favorite rifle that I like to hunt with as well. I really hope Mr. Huggins continues this character's story, I'll keep an eye out for even longer if I have to."" - Keith Putnam, Amazon reviewer Author InformationJames Byron Huggins was a decorated police detective in Huntsville, Alabama, when he burst onto the literary scene with WOLF STORY, an international sensation that established him as a master of the modern thriller. Leaving the force to write full-time, he followed with THE RECKONING, CAIN, and HUNTER - each earning national and global acclaim for their blend of relentless action, mythic imagination, and moral depth. After a successful stint in the film industry, Huggins has returned to his first passion-writing. In 2025, Huggins released HUNTER'S MOON, the second novel in the acclaimed HUNTER trilogy, and has now completed LAST HUNT, the explosive finale.
