"This children's storybook is a charming personification of 4 friends working at The Water Cycle. Larry, a lovely water molecule, and his 3 buddies, Claude the Cloud, Sun, (betcha can't guess what he is!!) and Mary, another H2O molecule, all are dealing with different fears, worries, and anxieties surrounding every day life situations that children are able to relate to! A cloud afraid of STORMS?! The Sun, afraid of DARK?! I know it seems silly to us, but for whoever has the fear, it's real and can get real bad and make it hard to do stuff they love or want to do. By letting Larry know that he's not alone and IT IS OKAY to have fears, they encourage him to begin to overcome his worries that really ""water down his day! *badum tss* (ANYWAYS...He learns how to BREAK THE CYCLE of negative thinking, (no, he doesn't break the actual Water Cycle. That'd be in a different category of book). It suggests a handful of simple and basic coping skills, focuses on relying on and trusting our support systems, talking about what makes them afraid, and share their own coping strategies! (Spoiler alert: Claude's favorite Teddy to snuggle is Toast.) In conjunction to validating anxiety and teaching different coping skills, this story also lightly touches on some simple facts about The Water Cycle and the 3 basic phases, offers potential teaching points through lighthearted references to the behavior of water molecules as they change states of matter through each phase, has charming, positive messages, and written in a rhyming format that make it a fun book to read with brightly colored/simple illustrations, and endearing, while also relatable personalities for each of the characters.
