OverviewAfter a frightening dream about eating babies in Kualo Lumpur, Kyle Cartwright and his wife, Laura Wallace, decide to adopt a child. They travel to Georgia and adopt a beautiful, black baby. Their white neighbors in Alexandria Virginia, were shocked while their black neighbors welcomed them and helped with food, clothing and a crib. They decide to adopt a second child but this time, upon arriving at the agency in Georgia, are greeted by pickets who want all the black babies killed. They bring their second daughter home and find a nursery that is integrated in Georgetown and convenient for Kyle who works at the O'Neill House Office, in Washington D.C. A crises occurs when a shooting stops all traffic and Laura is unable to pick up the girls. A second crises occurs when the two girls are kidnapped by men who want to save America from becoming a black nation. An African American neighbor, is shot and Kyle, against the Piedmont district attorneys wish, sets about trying to determine who murdered his neighbor. Another black male is killed in the Piedmont area and Kyle believes he knows who is responsible for the murders and kidnapping and provokes the murderers. Kyle and Laura are faced with the realization they are a white couple raising black daughters in a country where many blacks think that only blacks should be adopting black babies and whites should be adopting white babies.
