Overview

As an historian and having lived in Germany for six years, I learned about the Kindertransport years ago. However, until Sosa's little book, I have seldom seen a book that presents the story of these children in a way that is clear, understandable, and emotional, yet readable. Additionally, the book can be easily used by classroom teachers as it is short and covers the subject in an relatable way. I think the addition of Jeanne Conway's illustrations adds immensely to the story's comprehension and emotional draw. I recommend this little book to all teachers and parents who understand our need to teach history in order to protect our futures from such hate and prejudice. C.M. Huddleston

Kena Sosa grew up in San Antonio, surrounded by the rich, vivid scenery of its unique culture. She attended Our Lady of the Lake University in historic downtown before living a while in Japan and Mexico.
