OverviewKapyate can run like a cheetah, which earns him respect from the feral youths known as 'Street Kings'. It also saves him from the many horrendous experiences suffered by 'streetkids', living miserable existences in Jinja, Uganda. Steven Mudusu was abandoned at the tender age of 3 years and throughout his childhood and youth, was known as 'Kapyate'. He vowed to rise above streetlife and help other youngsters survive the horrors meted out by the Street Kings and those others who would use and abuse them. 'Kapyate - A Streetkid Called Steven: from abandoned toddler to CEO ', tells the inspirational true story of Steven's life from his early years living by his wits; through adolescence spent working as a building site 'gofer', fetching and carrying whatever was required by the men on site; to becoming a qualified minister and registering his own self-funded charity - Divine Care Missions - that rescues orphaned and abandoned children from the streets of Uganda's second largest city. Steven's journey through life has been - and continues to be - a harrowing tale of hardship; abuse by those who should know and do better; and extreme poverty. Despite all the trials and tribulations, Kapyate runs until his dream becomes reality.
