Overview

Ploughing through peat bogs, rescuing sheep, walking alone in the dark; this book has it all. It is full of riveting adventures of walking solo in the glorious British countryside. 'Just Another Pile of Stones' will take you on a journey from a child's first glimpse of the wonderful Lake District to heart-stopping moments, dangling from a rope above a black abyss, escaping from a herd of unfriendly cows and being lost in a hail storm. Its lyrical imagery and humorous tone make this a readable account of solo hiking that will have you lacing up your boots and setting off in search of your own adventures.
