Overview

Jubilee: The Emancipation of Life and Love is a narrative modeled on sacred texts, creation stories, and prophetic works. It centers on three primary themes: Life is continuity in the midst of change, not a competition; Everything has been freely given to be equally shared by all; and Love is as abundant as sunlight, gravity, and air. Jubilee is the story of the story we are living out. It integrates scientific descriptions of the origins of the universe and the cooperative processes of life on Earth. It describes the harnessing of fire and language, of agriculture and imagination, of emotions, intelligence, and empathy. It also describes the origins of the ideas which have led to social and economic inequality and environmental catastrophe. It reconciles with local, voluntary practices in our community to restore our connections to our neighbors, the other inhabitants with whom we share this home, and the systems which sustains us all.

Reviews

""I wanted to let you know that my husband started your book. He has been a voracious reader since high school (always has three or four books going and burns through them) and was as awestruck as I have ever seen him be by an opening chapter. He was stunned by its power, poetry, profound insight...as he said, 'His first book was terrific. But in this one he's clearly writing from a very different place that is next level; that can only come from someone who is [searching for words] living in the deepest space. You HAVE to read it, like, NOW. What he does with Genesis and where he takes it from there...I'm speechless.' ""You know him well enough to know that he doesn't impress or give accolades easily. And he wasn't impressed. He was changed. And this wasn't an accolade. It was a testimony. Keep going, Rob. Whatever you and God are doing; just keep going. We're in the turning of the age. An evolutionary hinge. And our species needs you.""
