JR Namba Station is a train station in Namba, Naniwa Ward, Osaka, Japan, adjacent to Namba Station and Osaka Namba Station operated by the West Japan Railway Company. JR Namba is the western terminus of the Kansai Main Line. The Osaka Railway opened Minatomachi Station as its terminal in Osaka on March 1, 1899. The railway was succeeded by the Kansai Railway in 1900 and was nationalized in 1907. The station was renamed JR Namba on September 4, 1994, the day Kansai International Airport opened. New underground facilities opened on March 22, 1996 and replaced the former above-ground station.
