JFK Beyond Tears: Implications for America and the World, 50 Years After Dallas envisions the period between November 22nd, 1963 and January 20, 1969 had Kennedy been President for the entirety of his two possible terms as President. Much like the ways in which Blight & Lang recreated and hypothesized alternative Cold War battles - from Cuba to Vietnam - in their previous work on JFK, this book attempts to uncover what American history might have looked like had we been fortunate enough to see another Kennedy term. The achievements, the decisions and the hard-to-grasp effervescence of Kennedy's character are utilized in this exploratory work of history: one that ends by speculating as to how Kennedy would advise current US policy makers today when it comes to America's role as the leader of the free world, outlining solutions to our many current and future domestic and international challenges as only a great President could.
