Reviews

This fine book is most welcomed. William Sharlin is a living legend in the American Jewish community. Trained at Hebrew Union College in Cincinnati, he studied with the great teachers and philosophers of the 20th century. Added to that, he is a serious composer of the Jewish liturgy, taking the best of new music and combining it with a deep understanding of Hebrew prayer and song. He is magical leading a congregation in prayer or training a choir to sing challenging music. Best of all, he has a great sense of humor and makes it all seem like fun. Judy Aronson, Professor of Jewish Education, Academy of Jewish Religion, Long Beach, CA
