Overview

Jack Pierson emerged on the art scene as a member of the Boston School, which included David Armstrong, Philip-Lorca diCorcia, Nan Goldin, Mark Morrisroe and twins Doug and Mike Starn, among others. In 1995, Pierson, who had been developing his trademark word sculptures published a photo book titled All of a Sudden, which went on to influence a new generation of image-makers. All Over the Place takes up where All of a Sudden left off by presenting the past 10 years of Pierson’s photographic output in the form of an artist book that evokes the kind of melancholy, romanticism, deep longing, and glamour that are hallmarks of Pierson’s work. Mixing in personal and commercial work and designed by Omar Sosa of Apartamento Studios, All Over the Place aims to reaffirm Pierson as a singular photographic talent.
