Overview

When social worker Kaitlin Chambers is called to pick up her husband at the local police station, she is shocked to find a lanky, scarred doppelgänger waiting for her. The man who resembles her husband insists on transporting her and her daughter Camilla to their northern cabin, away from dangerous strangers and Lovecraftian creatures the likes of which she cannot imagine. With the world ending around them, can she put her trust in this man whose terrifying truth is only equaled by the horror his body has become?

Reviews

Within a quick 200 pages, author-director J. Krawczyk unfolds a tightly paced, action-packed story that begins with a doppelganger mystery that rips into cosmic horror on an epic scale. A thoroughly enjoyable read from the opening image of a deep sea diver crawling up onto a frozen beach to the closing images of titanic god-monsters striding the earth. The star of the story (for me, anyway) is a giant multi-eyed spider who, without a single line of dialogue, nevertheless endeared himself to this reader. Kudos! - Tim McGregor, author of EYNHALLOW This book is a helluva lotta fun. Tight writing, fantastic pacing, and a wickedly imagined near future chaos. Fantastic characters as well - a blast to read. - Laurel Hightower, author of BELOW
