Overview

In Is It Me or My Hormones?, Marcelle Pick, author of The Core Balance Diet and Is It Me or My Adrenals?, delves into the often misunderstood world of female hormonal imbalance. One of the most common and agonising problems women face today is hormonal imbalance. Sometimes it's a nightmarish premenstrual syndrome-depression, cravings, bloating, weight gain, irritability, and even out-of-control rage for up to three weeks each month. Sometimes it's periods so painful that you have to arrange your entire life around your cycle. Sometimes it's a rocky passage into perimenopause that changes everything you know about yourself and your body. Luckily, you can resolve these hormonal issues-you just need accurate, actionable information to do so. In Is It Me or My Hormones?, Marcelle Pick, author of The Core Balance Diet and Is It Me or My Adrenals?, delves into the often misunderstood world of female hormonal imbalance. Sharing her personal struggles and her experiences with patients, Marcelle helps you understand how the right diet, exercise, supplements, herbs, and psychological support, occasionally complemented with bioidentical hormones, can free you from hormone disruption. After walking you through the basic science of how your hormones affect your body, mind and emotions, Marcelle lays out an accessible, easy-to-follow, 28-day program-complete with schedules, exercises, supplements, meal plans and recipes-that will stabilise your hormones in just one month and make you feel like yourself again. Unlike many medical professionals, Marcelle knows that your symptoms aren't 'just a normal part of being a woman' or 'not that big a deal.' And in this book, she validates your experience of hormonal imbalance and opens your eyes to the power you have over your health. Join Marcelle on this journey to implement simple, natural changes that will help eliminate your cravings, depression, mood swing and weight gain, and make you feel energised, sexual, and in command of your life!

"""Besides her first-person advice, Pick explains the science behind hormones and how to sort them out via diet, exercise and supplements. There's also a 28-day programme to get them back on track. Result."" - The Sunday Times (Style) ""Out of kilter all month long? You could do worse than read Is it Me or My Hormones? by Marcelle Pick to help conquer the cravings, mood swings, weight gain, low libido and tiredness."" - Red magazine “My day would begin with me feeling exhausted and having pains and aches throughout my body. Mood swings, nausea, irregular bowel discomfort, and a constant battle with inflammation and obesity accumulated over the years and left me drained and depressed. My recovery is due to the guidance of Marcelle Pick and her ability to teach the patient how to understand and support their individual needs and create health through nutrition, hormone balance, and spiritual awakening. This book’s method has helped me lose more than 100 pounds, and I have more energy and joy than I can ever remember.”— Patricia Berube “I have been a patient of Marcelle’s for 15-plus years. Over the years, she has taught me considerably about health and opened my eyes to a healthy life. I was overweight for most of my adult life. With Marcelle’s help, I lost 45 pounds. She never gave up on me. I was tipping the scales at 185 pounds and had tried many different diet plans. Her insights into my food cravings, hormone imbalance, sluggishness, and lack of energy were life altering. I now feel healthier than I have ever felt. Marcelle devised a supplement plan that has made a huge, positive difference in my life. I look forward to my yearly annual check-ins with Marcelle, as each time I visit with her, I know I will learn a tidbit more about becoming healthier. There’s no other way to say it . . . Marcelle changed my life.”— Carol Hauser “I have followed everything that Marcelle has advised me to do. I’m a woman on her journey.”— Barbara Lavigne “I met with Marcelle Pick and she listened to me and worked out a program to get me feeling like me again. Since our first meeting, I am feeling like the old/new me again!”— Mary Ann Benedict “I have been a patient of Marcelle’s for more than 20 years. The older I get, the more I appreciate her cutting-edge approach to women’s health, her brilliant mind, and her commitment to my entire well-being. Over the years, as different issues have come up, Marcelle has always taken a multifaceted approach to finding the solutions. Marcelle knows me and what makes me tick. I could not ask for a better partnership in seeking optimal health than the one I have with Marcelle.”— Willo Wright"
