Overview

Iran: Where Mass Murderers Rule is an expose of the current rulers of Iran and their track record in human rights violations. The book details how 30,000 political prisoners fell victim to politicide during the summer of 1988 and showcases the most egregious political extinction of a group of people. The publication includes details about how the massacre arose, who the perpetrators were, and how they are presently engaging in the justification or cover up of the massacre, as they continue to rule the country and commit atrocities.

This book is a thoughtful, detailed explanation of a crime committed against humanity in the summer of 1988. Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini issued a fatwa for the execution of 30,000 of his regime's political opponents. Why is it important to address this crime now, twenty-nine years after it happened? Is it to set the record straight? Or to bring some closure and relief to the families of the massacred? If the history of the twentieth century has taught us anything it is that each of us must answer yes to both questions. When an atrocity takes place, we cannot look away. Only when we investigate independently and know what happened can we act to prevent such an atrocity from happening again. Much of this book has been compiled by Iranian dissidents and freedom fighters who were targeted by their government. We need to read their stories and make them our own. Hon. Joe Lieberman - U.S. Senator (Retired); Chairman, United Against Nuclear Iran---------- We have all read in modern times of the vast scale of killing in Nazi Germany, Communist Russia and China, Cambodia, Rwanda, Syria and far too many other places, and so we are all aware of the tendency of mass murder to numb the senses. This book, however, tells of more than a past horror; it describes the beginning in 1988 of a politicide in Iran that continues to this day, and whose perpetrators are still in power. The mass executions of members of PMOI/MEK during the summer of blood in 1988 was the beginning, but many of those responsible for the mock trials and thousands of executions then are still at work, and the current president, Hassan Rouhani, has more than 3,000 executions on his record since taking office four years ago. These are the people on whom the United States and other adherents to the JCPOA rely to fulfill Iran's promise to abandon its quest for nuclear weapons. As a result, this book is both a call for accountability and a cautionary lesson. It is a volume that should be read by anyone who has a concern for justice and safety. Michael B. Mukasey - former Attorney General of the United States (2007-2009) and former U.S. District Judge (1988-2006).
