Author Information

Eric W. Constans is Associate Professor in Mechanical Engineering at Rownan University, and served as Chair of the Mechanical Engineering program there for six years. He received his B.S. degree from the University of Washington, and his M.S. and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the Pennsylvania State University. Prior to his arrival at Rowan University, he worked as a researcher in the Acoustics Center of Continental A.G., in Hannover, Germany. His research interests include engineering education, in which he has published 39 papers, and the areas of acoustics and vibration. Karl B. Dyer has a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering with a concentration in Machine Learning. He is currently employed by Rowan University’s Mechanical Engineering department as a Technologist and Adjunct Professor. He has taught Sophomore Engineering Clinic, Mechanical Engineering Laboratory, and Introduction to Mechanical Design. As Technologist, he is responsible for teaching students how to use industrial manufacturing and rapid prototyping equipment, assisting with project development within the engineering curriculum, and consulting on faculty research.
