He is Former President of the Korean Society of Mechanical Engineers (KSME), Fellow Emeritus of the Korean Academy of Science and Technology, and Emeritus Member of the National Academy of Engineering of Korea. He was registered in Marquis Who's Who in the World and in Outstanding People of the 20th Century, International Biographical Center, England, in 2000.
