As a former elected official and news reporter, I know the importance and role lobbying plays every day at all levels of government. This book is vital for those learning in the classroom and in the field about the way the legislative process really works and how they can successfully influence it. Scott R. Talan, Assistant Professor--SOC & Faculty in Residence American University Washington, D.C. This book is a must for anyone in the state legislative lobbying arena. Guide to State Legislative Lobbying, 4th edition provides a roadmap on the art and science of effectively managing a results-oriented state a affairs program. Justin Elliott Lobbyist American Physical Therapy Association Washington, D.C. As both an adjunct professor of law and a long-time contract lobbyist, I have found that Robert Guyer's insights into the lobbying profession are outstanding and this book will provide any student of lobbying or any practicing lobbyist (novice or seasoned) with a solid foundation onto which to build their lobbying e orts, no matter the level of government. There is so much valuable information provided in this book, which you would otherwise take many years of experience to compile. Instead, you have it at your fingertips. Chris Micheli Aprea & Micheli, Inc. Sacramento, CA Bob Guyer has been training young, and some old, politicos, influence peddlers, and policy hawks for quite some time. His lessons are more hands on than theory based, and his classes are a true workshop of ideas, information, and knowledge about the business... I always learn something new whenever I review Bob's book or take his class. Rich Cranwell Director of Governmental Relations American Healthcare, LLC Richmond, VA
