OverviewPlease note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. The Ingraham Glacier is a large glacier on the eastern flank of Mount Rainier, Washington. Named for the Mount Rainier enthusiast Edward Sturgis Ingraham, it covers an area of 1.5 square miles (3.9 km2) and contains 7 billion cubic feet (200Ao10^6 m3) of ice. From the summit ice cap, Ingraham Glacier flows east between Gibraltar Rock, 12,660 feet (3,860 m), and Disappointment Cleaver and south of Little Tahoma Peak, 11,138 feet (3,390 m), which divides it from the much larger Emmons Glacier to the north. Descending southeast, it merges with the adjacent Cowlitz Glacier forming a single valley glacier ending at around 5,500 ft (1,700 m) elevation.
