Bidyut Chakrabarty, a former professor of political science, University of Delhi (1998–2018), retired as a vice chancellor of Visva-Bharati, a university which was founded by the Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore. Besides these appointments, he also taught in many universities across the world as a visiting professor. An expert on nationalist thought, Professor Chakrabarty has also contributed to the field of political science in general.
