Overview

It had been four years since Maya last stepped foot in her small, coastal hometown, Clayton's Beach, Florida. A place where most believed the scariest part was the college students on summer vacation crawling out of their rented condos after an extreme bender. Maya knew different. She knew about the human-like beasts with long fangs, red eyes, and pale skin. As a kid, she had seen these vampires with her own eyes and witnessed firsthand the fear they inspired. As she grew, she continued to see their faces in her nightmares until she fled to Minnesota. None of her questions surrounding these creatures were ever answered, and a deeply buried part of her wondered if it all was even real. Now in her mid-20s, Maya accepted that she was never meant to know. She accepted that a world without the supernatural was all there really was. Returning home was supposed to be her final step towards a normal life. Too bad for Maya, normal doesn't come with the territory during a murder spree. Or when creatures of the night are involved.
