OverviewMoving from the 1936 Olympics in Berlin to Alberta in the 1970's, this is a story of two women whose lives and loves parallel each other through-out different generations. Each has had to deal with betrayal and vengeance and the fate of the senior character has left the younger woman enormously wealthy. The source of this money, and all that it entails, is a narrative that is unraveled as the time-line progresses. While not an historical novel, it gives a glimpse, from a personal perspective, of the evil that overtook Germany prior to the Second World War. It also displays the dynamics of multi-generational small Canadian town. The story is packed with characters, historical and modern, and the two time periods weave together at a steady pace.
