Overview

In this book Philip Dennis tell the steps and missteps taken in an effort to father his sons of divorce. The mothers, with the backing of the courts and money from family, are given distinct advantages in determining the outcomes of these custody decisions. Legal manipulations and down right illegal moves blind side the father in trying to retain his fatherhood. The pride, the joy, the disappointment, the sadness, the love and the pain felt during these efforts to maintain relationship with his sons are vividly portrayed as he struggles to find his way through this painful exercise. The big picture he paints of the legal/parental/custodial fiasco is frightening. Yet, he is able to maintain his essential essence and work through hard decisions concerning his sons. This is both a love story and a tragedy. Finding love with a woman who is congruent and having to choose between the needs of two sons gives the reader the highs and lows of a man's life when hard decisions have to be made concerning the needs of his children. Though the relationships with his own sons are often fractured, the author is able to give foster boys parental love, parental acceptance and allow them to accomplish growth events unlike many ever experience. This book is written with feeling and emotional significance but is equally filled with visuals that will put the reader along side the characters as they go through their experiences. You will experience the depths of grief and moments of hope as the father tries to nourish the want of proper relationship with both his sons.
