Overview'In My Tribulations Lies My Great Victory' by Eunice Chadoka King is the author's very personal account of the Zimbabwe War of Liberation. As a high school student, Eunice and her fellow students were kidnapped from school by the Zimbabwe African National Liberation Army (ZANLA) and marched into neighbouring Mozambique to be trained as soldiers to fight the Smith regime and gain independence for Zimbabwe. Eunice was a willing soldier, keen to play her part in the struggle for liberation, but her story tells of widespread political abuse by corrupt officers and officials, which led to her being raped and nearly cost her her life on several occasions. Long after the war was fought and won the corruption and abuse continued and Eunice vowed to tell the truth about how senior Zimbabwe African National Union (ZANU) officials had behaved during the war. 'In My Tribulations Lies My Great Victory' tells that story and reveals the truth about corruption at the highest levels in Zimbabwe.
