An ethnic Indian, born in Burma, the author studied gemology in the US and gained a GG degree from the Gemological Institute of America. For years he traveled from the US to Burma dealing in precious stones and jade. After US sanctions were placed on Burma, the author turned his attention to sharing his knowledge, gleaned over a lifetime of travel and business in Burma and India.
