Overview

Tragedy meets two Seattle bankers kayaking in Prince William Sound in Southcentral Alaska. One is killed by the other falling glacier ice, videoed the event. The dead banker was responsible for managing Alaska's account at SeaFirst Bank in Seattle. Aliana Pedersen, State of Alaska's Assistant Director of Finance, hired a replacement account manager. When a bank clerk discovers and reports account irregularities, Alaska State Troopers begin investigating. Trooper Reuben Hayes became acquainted with the parties when investigating the kayaking accident that killed the banker. His investigation leads to an affair with Ms. Pedersen and embroils him in a case of bank fraud. Reminiscent of the Alaska Last Bridge to Nowhere politics, suspects are bank presidents, the Head SeaFirst Account Manager and even the Governor of the State of Alaska. Many others are entangled in the case: a local drug dealer, a Mexican Cartel Leader and the FBI. An Alaska who-done-it that holds you to the final page.
