Overview

"'I Had Covid And It Hurts' is an insightful retrospective on one man's life as he courageously took on coronavirus at the core of the United States beginning. Leap Day weekend, in the Seattle, Washington area, the first United States covid death was recognized. It was just the beginning for the country. Why did I choose this title for this book? Well, first because Covid does physically hurt. Mostly though because of everything that I experienced while in the hospital. Hearing about the other patients that did not have a great support crew or prayer warriors and they are all alone because they did not have a belief system so therefore got in their heads and never came out. Now, they are in an induced coma fighting for their lives with a hose down their throat! Then there was the silence oh, the silence which allowed for the deep thinking and the wondering what I can do to help instead of talking about helping! Then, there were the children.... I am a true believer of God his miracles, his love for me, and his concern for me. I appreciate all the gifts he's bestowed in me, and I just love him so much and I trust him with every inch of my life. when I'm in a mental dilemma and I need divine guidance, he knows and we talk in my quiet place in the wee hours of the morning 4:30, 5:30am. I love it because it gives him time to pour so much into me, I feel it immediately and oh you have never felt a satisfaction like receiving confirmation and more gifts at the same time! While in my quiet place, I specifically ask, ""Will I be ok after this vaccine shot?"" and I was told, ""Don't worry I got you."" So, what do I do? Immediately schedule an appointment for that following Wednesday at the neighborhood Rite Aid. I could not follow through with the appointment because of a fever I had developed, 102. ""Don't worry I got you"", was not about the vaccine, it was about the journey I was about to go on! This book shows how with faith we can overcome anything. As a Black man, I was not going to be just a number in the community of racial inequality. Black people throughout the U.S. have continued to face large health disparities through the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as economic and other social hardships in comparison to other racial groups, it is important that we build on our faith, and refuse to forget what we've been through as we move forward together empowering and praising each other! Rcurtis Fantpayne Jamerson is a singer, songwriter, musician, performer, car salesperson, talk show host, emcee, promoter, father, grandfather and highly active and healthy normally. Born and raised in Seattle Washington except for three years in Los Angeles California."
