The Times Author InformationGiles Duley is an award-winning photographer who has spent the last decade travelling the world documenting the effects of conflict on civilians. In 2011, whilst covering the war in Afghanistan, he was severely injured by an IED, but returned to work just 18 months later. His work has been published worldwide in publications such as GQ, The Observer, Sunday Times and Vogue. He recently launched the Legacy of War, a five-year project documenting post-conflict communities. He is a trustee for the NGO EMERGENCY UK and Ambassador for the landmine charity FABW.
