Overview

I read Will James, and dreamed of becoming a cowboy. John Duncklee shared the dream of many young boys. But growing up in the years of the Great Depression were difficult and his father had other plans for John. His mother's death and his father's re-marriage changed his life forever. Withdrawn, resentful of authority, but determined to make his dream come true, John barreled along the rocky journey to manhood. Throughout a multitude of jobs, college, and the military, the desire to be a cowboy lived on in John's heart. Join us in this emotional, sometimes humorous, but always entertaining memoir of one man's attempt to live life on his own terms.
