Hybrids: (Dax9)

Overview

In the shadows of the galaxy, a child is dying-again. DAX9, the latest in a long line of failed hybrids, was created to unite two worlds. But on a station ruled by logic and overseen by cold, calculating AI, every trace of his humanity is seen as a threat. Then JR arrives. A human. A teacher. A danger. Together, DAX9 and JR ignite a chain of events that will shake the stars. Assassins move in silence. The station begins to fail. And somewhere deep in the code of creation, something ancient awakens. In a world without emotion, love might be the last rebellion.

Author Information

J.E. Robinson's love of space-based science fiction began as a child, watching the original Flash Gordon and Buck Rogers TV series. His fascination with the unknown led him to write his first college term paper, ""Do Flying Saucers Exist?"", at Tusculum College in 1968. Robinson brings a sharp eye for detail and narrative precision to his storytelling, thanks to his 37 years as a probation and parole officer. His private visit with SETI scientists at the Arecibo Observatory in November 1999 deepened his passion for humanity's place in the cosmos-a theme central to his debut novel, Hybrids. In it, he weaves present-day science and technology into a compelling first-contact scenario, centering on a hybrid boy named DAX.
