Her research interests stem from her personal experiences. The primary focus of her research has been the phenomenon of mass Polish migration to the UK after Poland joined the European Union in 2004. Nicholas Wise is Reader International Urban Change at Liverpool John Moores University. His academic focus on sense of place, place image, and regeneration links to his background in human geography (PhD, Kent State University), and he has focused on a range of cases in the Dominican Republic, Croatia and Serbia.
