Table of ContentsReviews'The revered, highly successful and admired entrepreneur Mike Wilson has applied a lifetime of experience in the workplace to the business of living. Just as a CEO takes stock of his company's performance, Wilson encourages us to analyse our daily lives and to maximise every second, every minute of our personal and professional conduct. This is a wonderful guide.' Jacob Rothschild 'Mike has to be one of the UK's foremost CEO s of the 20th century, having grown Allied Dunbar and taken St. James's Place from a start-up to one of the youngest ever FTSE 100 companies. The qualities that made him successful - discipline, attention to detail, humility and an unrelenting hunger for improvement - shine through this book.' Evelyn Bourke, Group CEO, BUPA 'Underneath Mike's delightful charm is a razor-sharp, analytical brain, with an extraordinary memory (particularly for names and faces) and a meticulous attention to detail.' John Stone, Chairman, Blevins Franks Financial Management Ltd 'As an investor and advisor, Mike has helped us to build a business that has almost doubled in size in each of the last five years and to do so without forgetting why we are doing it.' Jennifer Sundberg and Pippa Begg, co-CEO s, Board Intelligence Author InformationMike Wilson (1943-2018) left school with no A-levels and started his working life behind the wheel of a bread delivery van, moonlighting as a model for the Milk Marketing Board. He joined Mark Weinberg's Abbey Life in 1968, aged twenty-five, following him two years later when Mark founded Hambro Life (later Allied Dunbar), of which Mike would later become CEO. In 1992, Mike was co-founder with Mark and first CEO of J. Rothschild Assurance. Renamed St. James's Place Wealth Management, it is a FTSE 100 company with over GBP90 billion of funds under management - and rising. Mike retired from the board in 2011, subsequently serving as Chairman of the SJP Charitable Foundation. He was a trustee and director of various mental health charities and coached a wide variety of people in different sectors.
