Overview

When the U.S. Supreme Court selected George W. Bush as president of the United States in the year 2000, the Republicans began dismantling the U.S.Constitution. Karl Rove, known as Bush's Brain, is said to have stated he wanted to make the United States a one-party country. That became the goal of the Republican Party for the next 15 years. This book lays out the step-by-step process of how, with the help from conservative billionaires and lobbyists, and other saboteurs including the conservative U.S.Supreme Court, our country was changed from a democracy to a plutocracy, which is a government ruled by the rich. The only weapon strong enough to save our democracy is the vote. Yet 30 Republican-led states in the past few years have legislated voter-suppression laws in precincts which overwhelming vote Democratic, claiming the laws are to prevent voter fraud, of which there are virtually none. The culpability of conservative Republicans is inescapable as detailed in the book. The vote is the only viable weapon available to prevent the final destruction of the best governmental systems in world history. If plutocracy wins a firmer footing, one percent of our population will be ruling the rest of us -- without rescue in sight.
