OverviewThis bachelor thesis primarily discusses and compares the two film adaptations of King's work. These two films will be used to analyse the transformation of audiovisual methods in horror films. First, the two films themselves will be examined to give the reader an overview of the data, successes, etc. This is followed by an outline of the history of horror films and their most famous representatives, as well as some psychological considerations on the subject of 'fear' in the context of the impact of horror films. The main part of this thesis is devoted to the images and sound of the two film adaptations of 'It'.
