Author Information

Gena Watson is an educator who currently works for the City University of New York where she teaches courses in City Politics, State and Local Government, American Government, and Civil Rights and Civil Liberties and is also a Doctoral candidate at Walden University. She earned a Master of Arts degree from Queens College of the City University of New York, a Master of Arts degree from Brooklyn College also of the City University of New York, and earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Maryland at Baltimore County. Ms. Watson has worked for over fifteen years at not for profit organizations located throughout New York City. Nine of these years were spent in senior management positions specializing in program development and public policy. In addition, she served as a political consultant to various political candidates in New York City. She is also a member of the American Society for Public Administration.
