Excerpt from Household Worship: Partly Responsive It is the belief of the writer that every professor of religion at the head of a household, should daily, and twice a day, assemble that household for the worship of God. In many cases it is not possible for such person to offer extemporaneous prayer. Here are forms for worship - simple - scriptural - appropriate. Any one who can read at all, can conduct family worship with this aid. Why should not every good citizen at the head of a family, whether he be a professor of religion or not, worship God in his house? This is no place for argument, but if a man believes in God, he should worship him, and if it is right for an indi vidual man to worship God, it is surely right and proper that he should lead his family in this duty. There may be, there are, many persons who are not members of the church but who are Christians, hon oring God and living conscientiously, who kneel and pray to God in their chambers; why should not such worship God in the family?
