Overview

For Lieutenant Bill Reilly, a Westerner at war in the desert, the dream of joining the Foreign Legion has turned into a nightmare. It all starts with a severed hand. In it is a message from a Berber chief: Save the American woman he holds captive or she's next up for dismemberment. But it's a trick, leading to a terrorist attack. But who set the trap? Caught in a triangle of treachery between the French, Spanish and native Berbers, Reilly's only hope is to uncover the truth in a desert of deception. The bugles blow, the rifles crack, and the sandstorms swirl as the audio version of Hostage to Death carries you off to an exotic land of surprising romance and sudden terror.

Author Information

L. Ron Hubbard (1911-1986), with nineteen New York Times bestsellers and more than 230 million copies of his works in circulation, was among the most acclaimed and widely read authors of the twentieth century. As a leading light of American pulp fiction through the 1930s and 1940s, he was further among the most influential authors of the modern age. Indeed, from Ray Bradbury to Stephen King, there is scarcely a master of imaginative tales who has not paid tribute to him. Jim Meskimen is a stage, film, and television actor who has appeared in many well-known movies and television shows. He acted in Apollo 13 and Frost/Nixon for director Ron Howard, both of which were nominated for Best Picture Oscars. His television appearances include The Fresh Prince of Bel Air, Friends, Lie to Me, Criminal Minds, and Parks and Recreation. He is also a painter, award-winning audiobook narrator, and audiobook director for Galaxy Audio. Christina Huntington graduated from the Acting Shakespeare Professional Program at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London. She has appeared on Gilmore Girls and Monk, on stage in London in A Midsummer Night's Dream and has lent her voice to many works including Disney's Tangled. Phil Proctor is an original member of the three-time Grammy-nominated Firesign Theatre. He has performed on stage, television, through interactive games, and in film, including the Emmy Award-winning Rugrats, Finding Nemo, Monsters, Inc., and the Dr. Doolittle films. He is part of Los Angeles' celebrated Antaeus Classical Ensemble. R. F. Daley is an actor, voice-over artist, and audiobook narrator. His television credits include Curb Your Enthusiasm, Bones, Dexter, The Office, Arrested Development, Boston Public, and Spin City, among many others. He has narrated numerous audiobooks by L. Ron Hubbard and was the voice of the military adviser in the video game Civilization V.
