"English summary: Heinz Warnecke has brought Homer's Odyssey from the lofty spheres of literature back to historical reality, ringing in a paradigm shift in Homeric philology. Taking all the information provided in Homer's epics, he solves the question of Odysseus' home island and proves on the basis of solid philological evidence that Odysseus' fictitious wanderings take him through actual geographical locations that lose nothing of their factuality by being reported in the form of mythological narration.
