Author Information

Reuven Chips Abramovich was born in 1948 in Israel. Since the age of twelve, Reuven grew up and sailed the Eastern Mediterranean seashore. He led the sea scouts of Jaffa, later on founded the Center for Marine Studies for the Israeli Ministry of Education. For the past seven years, he is CEO of the 5,000 year old Port of Jaffa, one of the most ancient ports of the world. Reuven, is the author of many instructional books on wind sailing and motor sailing .Two of Israel's leading seafarers, Reuven Chips Abramovich and Gideon Chonla Shmueli, have compiled the knowledge and wonder of years of sailing the Mediterranean and combing Israel's shorelines in a photographic and literary triumph revealing the fascinating places in Israel where land meets the sea.
