Overview

Dissatisfied with her role as a suburban housewife and mother of three, Sharon Roseman's decision to pursue filmmaking sets off a chain of events involving a diverse ensemble of characters. She begins taking college classes led by Jean Claude Durant, a charismatic French cinema professor who catches the attention of many of his young female students. He and Sharon are very similar: both seeking something casual, and when they hook up, neither party gets hung up on what it means, despite Sharon being Jean Claude's student. Sara Lynde, determined to climb the ladder of influence, gets involved in a risqué project in order to win over Jean Claude. Her choices, fueled by a desire for attention and career advancement, result in a scandal that leaves her humiliated and leads her to overdose, almost succumbing to suicide. Sharon sees Sara for who she is underneath her façade, and Sharon is there for Sara in her darkest hour. Robert Fitzgerald, an innovative camera operator, and his outrageous idea of filming from a car sunroof on Sunset Blvd lead to a hilarious encounter with the police. As relationships form, crumble, and evolve, each character's journey intertwines with the world of filmmaking, leaving lasting imprints on their careers and personal lives. With triumphs, heartbreaks, and profound life lessons, Hollywood Adjacent paints a vivid portrait of passion, ambition, and the tumultuous nature of the entertainment industry.
