Reviews

This excellent book was overdue for a long time, but now it realizes all expectations, as it serves its purpose very well in promoting all the essential knowledge on AIDS and HIV with respect to exercise and sports medicine, without excluding ethical and moral problems. It is written in a didactic commendable way, so thatin spite of many well-known experts in different chaptersit is homogenous and understandable not only to physicians and medical personnel engaged in sport, but also to students of sport and medicine, coaches and officials involved in sports. In summary: Congratulations to the editors for filling a gap in sports literature with a most informative and instructive book, for a comprehensive overview and for a well-balanced mixture of theoretical aspects and practical consequences. <br>Gerhard G. Very unbiased and scientific, but also popular and touchy. Contains the available information and is updated. Can serve as an excellent source to interested students and scholars in the field. All chapters contribute their share to the HIV-sport puzzle, chapter 5 indicates that we deal with reality!
