Overview

High Spy is a tense spy thriller about the adventures of the indomitable Matt Sands, an Englishman not yet past his prime, and with a taste for fine food, drink and women. Whilst taking a European holiday, skiing in the Swiss Alps and looking for action of a different kind, his confidence and bravado cause him to stumble upon and become caught up in an international kidnap plot involving murderous professional villains and a beautiful and very capable CIA agent. He discovers some useful skills of his own, as danger abounds while he fights for his life and that of others, attempting to do the right thing but, of course, also get the girl. Set in the 1960s, it contains all the atmosphere and style of that bygone era.

Author Information

During the 1960s and 1970s, Ray spent much time skiing in the Swiss resorts, both the fashionable ones and the lesser known ones in the more remote parts of the Alps. His knowledge of these areas enables him to bring the true atmosphere and reality of the locations, which adds to the enjoyment of the story. During the 1980s, Ray had five books published in his Horsekeeping series, drawing on his many years of experience with horses. His autobiography, How Lucky Can You Get, is available and he is now working on a sequel to this novel.
