The first proposals on this matter were presented to the community in 1989, and in the same year, at the request of the Council of Europe Ministers, a working group composed of representatives from the governments, industry, and railways of the countries began work on a master plan for European high-speed railways This book evaluates the improvements of this mode on EU and developed regions in the world.
