OverviewJust as a roller-coaster begins a slow climb, Hidden in the Light begins as a safe ride. But its plunges and dizzying corners eventually rattle us through dark twists and turns before bringing us back to the light via extraordinary events. Through these enthralling, tumultuous pages, shelter is provided under refreshing humour and grace. In this story, three brothers share their journey with astonishing honesty. They ride with us until the slowing down and seeming safe stop of the roller coaster at the end of the ride. But is it a safe arrival or will we find ourselves pushed over the edge into a final screaming plunge one last time? There are shocks and unexpected surprises written in these pages as well as a bewilderment that is strangely acceptable in the astonishing events that make this book so compelling. Regardless of where you are through these pages, this is not an easy book to put down. This is a story that explores the effects of abuse and an improbable redemption that is found. Deborah Lloyd - Readers Favorite (USA) Hidden in the Light is deep, rich and ultimately, memorable. Matthew Crossman - Editor (Australian Community Media) Author InformationIan Cameron Wood began writing this book in 2006. During the 14-year journey following, there were many times he wanted to give up. The basic story was not completed until 2010 due to numerous interruptions and commitments. There were many re-writes and edits over the ensuing years as well as times of utter frustration and dissatisfaction that led him to abandon the project on four occasions. Nevertheless, he kept coming back and persevered through numerous rewrites and edits until arriving at a satisfactory result. The impetus for writing this book came 6 years after lapsing into severe depression after fifteen years of verbal, emotional, psychological and spiritual abuse and betrayal by a church pastor. His slow climb from deep darkness was helped by turning his focus to art and writing. He has had art exhibitions in Victoria, San Francisco and Mexico and released his first book of poetry and short stories ('the ends don't meet') in August 2018. His second novel is due for release in October 2021 with a second book of poetry and short stories to follow soon after. Tab Content 6Author Website:Countries AvailableAll regions |
