According to American health statistics, the #1 cause of death in women is heart disease. However, the #1 cause of death in any woman's spirit is a broken heart. A death caused by grief, bitterness, stress, and unhappiness in situations in which one may not feel worthy of adoration; going through life masking the reality that most of us are dead or dying inside; oblivious to the fact that the path toward recovery can actually be found in our history (we all have history). HERSTORY is a poignant look at my rebirth from an emotional death. Derived from a personal journey of self discovery, HERSTORY speaks of the acceptance of transitional moments in finding ones true self, passions, and purpose for living. HERSTORY examines my delusion of believing that I could find true happiness in material gains, food, overachieving, controlling others, reckless living, and the list goes on. Realizing that my ego was only temporarily pacified by such things, I found myself repeating the same unhappy, unfulfilled, circle of life; still yearning for happiness. HERSTORY makes a shocking, yet realistic evaluation of what I was actually doing; realizing that I had only created an unrealistic view of myself in order to please others. I wanted so much to be better; instead, I found that I was bitter, broken, and defined by my circumstances; which literally exhausted my most vital organ, my heart. After years of searching and yearning for happiness, I then began to search for solutions in finding everlasting happiness. Little did I know that my life was about to shift; everything that I had known would soon transition through a pivotal moment that I was afraid to experience. God was on the brink of offering me the gift of finding my life's purpose in helping cure the #1 cause of spiritual death among women. We all have the ability to rid ourselves of bitterness and strive towards betterment; but where do we begin? We begin with honesty, and self-evaluation; recognizing that HERSTORY could be your history. Let the evolution begin...
